Karen Beggs is the founder and owner of Kitchen 61, a homestyle meal service built on a passion for good food, family, and community. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Missouri and a Master of Science in Food Science and Nutrition from Kansas State University.

At Kitchen 61, our mission is to make wholesome, homecooked meals accessible to everyone. What began as a way to help busy parents provide nourishing food for their families has grown into a service that also supports seniors and anyone who values homemade meals made with care. Born from Karen’s experience as a teacher and her desire to ease the daily stress of mealtime, Kitchen 61 is dedicated to bringing comfort, quality, and convenience to the table — one meal at a time.

Kitchen 61 offers a wide variety of homestyle meals made from scratch with fresh, quality ingredients. My hot meal offerings range from Asian and Mediterranean favorites to classic Southern and Cajun comfort dishes — and everything in between.
Using both my scientific background and creative passion, I craft dry mixes, seasoning blends, and baked goods — from sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls to Liège Belgian waffles, muffins, and cookies — each made from scratch with quality ingredients and a focus on flavor. Coming soon is Lovie Mae's Chocolates, an array of chocolates made in our candy room.
